Training Faith Formation Leaders

Faith Formation Leaders are dedicated servants who continually deepen their knowledge, skills, and understanding so they can more effectively accompany others on their journey of faith. Ongoing formation enables them to respond with wisdom, compassion, and confidence to the spiritual needs of those they serve.

I provide opportunities for faith formation leaders to grow through prayer, reflection, discussion, and practical learning. Together, we explore effective pastoral approaches that help people develop life-giving spiritual practices, deepen their relationship with God, and experience the joy, peace, and hope that flow from living in His love.

By sharing our experiences, insights, and best practices, we encourage one another and grow as leaders who are equipped to enrich the lives of others through the transforming power of God's love..

1. The Art of Holy Listening

Effective listening is one of the most valuable skills we can develop. It communicates care, builds trust, and strengthens relationships.

In this workshop, participants will learn the characteristics of both effective and ineffective listening and discover how their listening habits influence communication and relationships. Through practical instruction and demonstrations, I teach the differences between active and reflective listening and how to use each skill effectively.

Participants will leave with practical tools and techniques to enhance their listening abilities, communicate with greater empathy and understanding, and build stronger, more meaningful relationships in their families, workplaces, ministries, and communities.

2. Caring for the Caregiver: God's Strengthening Love for Caregivers

Caring for a loved one can be both deeply rewarding and emotionally demanding. This workshop provides caregivers with practical tools, encouragement, and a supportive community to help them navigate the challenges they face.

Participants will learn the common language and communication skills that foster understanding, strengthen relationships, and improve difficult caregiving situations. They will also have the opportunity to connect with other family caregivers, share experiences, and discover how to draw strength, hope, and perseverance from God's presence.

Through practical instruction and guided discussion, caregivers will begin developing skills and strategies that promote greater confidence, resilience, and peace as they care for others while also caring for themselves.

3. Christian Guide to Manage Stress & Avoid Burnout

Serving others begins with caring for yourself. In this workshop, I teach practical tools and proven strategies for self-care that help participants maintain a healthy balance between work, ministry, and personal well-being.

Participants will learn to recognize the signs of stress and burnout, understand the differences between them, and discover effective ways to prevent both. Together, we explore the importance of establishing healthy boundaries, cultivating emotional and spiritual resilience, and developing habits that promote lasting peace, balance, and joy.

The goal is to equip participants to serve others faithfully while maintaining their own physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

4. The Heart of the Catechist: The Sower went out to sow the Seed

Faith educators are called not only to teach the faith but also to nurture their own spiritual lives. Before we can effectively lead others to Christ, we must first tend to our own souls.

In this workshop, I provide practical tools and spiritual practices to help educators nourish their relationship with God and maintain a healthy, vibrant spirituality both inside and outside the classroom.

Together, we will explore effective methods for engaging students in the faith, fostering meaningful encounters with Christ, and creating learning environments that inspire lasting spiritual growth. We will also discuss best practices that encourage students to deepen their faith and confidently live the Gospel in their daily lives.

5. The Role of the Laity in the Church Today

Through Scripture and the teachings of the Church, I explore the unique vocation and mission of the laity in today's Church. Together, we examine the vital role lay men and women play in God's plan of salvation and how they are called to share in the Church's mission by living and witnessing to the Gospel in their families, workplaces, parishes, and communities.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of their baptismal call, discover the gifts God has entrusted to them, and be encouraged to use those gifts in service to the Church and the world with faith, confidence, and purpose.
